Biomass Innovation Centre hosting Tour of Bioenergy Facilities

22 September 2014

This Saturday, October 4, the Biomass Innovation Centre invites everyone to join in their Blue Sky Bioenergy Tour – a guided tour of bioenergy installations in the North Bay area, including:South Shore Education Centre – biomass boiler which uses wood pellets to cover the buildings’ normal heating requirements
Merrick Landfill Power Plant – biogas project which extracts methane gas from the landfill and converts it into electricity
The tour is a part of Ontario’s Green Energy Doors Open event – a province-wide showcase of individual, community and commercial sustainable energy projects, involving participation from over 100 event hosts in 75 communities.
The BIC will be providing transportation to/from the tour facilities.  The shuttle will depart from the Biomass Innovation Centre office (Portable 1 at Nipissing University) at 9 a.m., and will return at approximately 1 p.m.
The BIC encourages you to share this event within your network. You can also promote and follow the day’s festivities on Twitter with #GEDO14.
This event is free and all are welcome, however, space is limited and registration is required.
